Lawn Mowing in Trinity Park

A fixed fortnightly mow for the yards of Trinity Park's large family houses, in a suburb that added 165 separate houses between 2016 and 2021.

Trinity Park has only been a suburb since 11 June 1988, when it was named and bounded, and its edges with Smithfield and Trinity Beach were still being redrawn between 2017 and 2019. Those dates belong to the suburb's name and boundaries, not to any house in it. Bluewater Marina is at Trinity Park, and Holy Cross School is on Reed Road. This page is for the households on its streets who want the mowing handled on the same day every fortnight. Trisim takes on lawns in Trinity Park, so call 0488 622 205 or send the address through the form. Somebody then looks at the yard before any figure is given.

Between the 2016 and 2021 Censuses, Trinity Park grew from 3,105 to 3,536 residents and added 165 separate houses, from 970 to 1,135. The people in those houses are mostly families: 80.8% of households were family households at the 2021 Census, against 68.5% across the Cairns council area, and 44.9% of families were couples with children. Children aged under 15 made up 22.8% of residents, against 19.0% for Cairns. Two homes in five were owned with a mortgage, 40.7% against 35.6% for Cairns, and about one in three was rented, 33.2%, which is in line with the 35.0% Cairns rate. So this page is written first for the parent who owns the yard and wants it off the weekend list, and second for the landlord or property manager of a rented family house.

Why Trisim

Why lawn mowing matters in Trinity Park

Done right the first time.
Trina and Simon, Trisim Property Maintenance

Almost every Trinity Park address is a detached house. At the 2021 Census, 94.3% of occupied homes were separate houses, against 72.9% across the Cairns council area, and 64.8% had four or more bedrooms, against 35.8%. The average was 3.7 bedrooms to a home and 2.8 people to a household, against 3.1 and 2.5 for Cairns. A separate house usually comes with grass on more than one side of it, and a family household tends to have plenty else filling the week.

The streets are not all the same age on paper either. Worked out for this page from the Queensland Government's cadastre, 1,016 of the suburb's 1,367 freehold lots sit on newer survey plans and 351 on older registered plans, close to three newer lots for every older one. Council's street register records Wendy Street as surveyed on 2 February 2005, and a subdivision whose streets were named after navy ships, including Arunta, Derwent and Napier Streets, while Apollo, Brindabella, Icefire and Ragamuffin Quays, Harbour Drive and Schooner Road follow an ocean going maxi yacht theme. Those survey dates describe street plans, not the age of the houses on them. Council's parks register also lists parks on residential streets and closes, among them Bowline Cl Park, Napier St Park and George Fuller Park on Summertime Cl.

Put those together and the job is less about any one hard mow and more about keeping a family yard from turning into a weekend project. That is what a standing round is for. Trisim's stated promise is to turn up the same day every fortnight and to do only the work that was quoted. The visit itself has four named parts: the cut, the edges, the line trim and a blow down of the paths and driveway. The mowing is mulch mowing, with the clippings cut fine and returned to the root zone rather than bagged and carried off. Before any of it, somebody attends the property to quote rather than pricing the job over the phone, because a villa lot of around 200 square metres and an older lot of around 800 are not the same yard, figures calculated for this page from the cadastre that include the house. Trisim takes on lawns in Trinity Park, so the first step is a call to 0488 622 205 or the address sent through the form.

How we look after your place

Yards on estates that are still filling in

Trinity Park added 431 residents and 165 separate houses in the five years to the 2021 Census. It was named only in June 1988 and its boundaries were amended as recently as 2017 to 2019. Newer survey-plan lots outnumber older registered-plan lots nearly three to one, a count made for this page from the state cadastre, and Council records a street surveyed in 2005. None of these dates gives the age of any house or lawn.

A household that has just moved in usually has a long list of jobs, and a lawn left until the list is finished can become a bigger task than a regular cut.

A standing fortnightly day, booked once, keeps the mow from becoming a backlog. Each visit is the cut, the edges, the line trim and a blow down of the paths and driveway, and nothing beyond what was quoted. Somebody looks at the yard first, so the quote reflects the lawn as it is on the day.

Toys on the lawn, a latched gate and a dog

At the 2021 Census, 22.8% of Trinity Park residents were aged under 15, against 19.0% for Cairns, and households averaged 2.8 people. Four households in five were family households and 44.9% of families were couples with children.

In a family yard the lawn often holds play equipment and toys, and a side gate may need to stay shut for a pet. A crew that arrives on a day nobody expected can find the yard not ready.

Because the round falls on the same day every fortnight, the household knows the date in advance. Line trimming is a named part of the visit, separate from the cut. What needs moving, which gate to latch and where a dog should be are settled when somebody comes to look at the yard before quoting. The crew is insured and police-checked.

A round that holds 200 and 800 square metre lots

Calculated for this page from the Queensland Government's cadastre, many older registered-plan lots in Trinity Park are around 800 square metres and many newer survey-plan lots around 600. A few villa schemes, Harbourside Villas and Bluewater Villas among them, have lots of around 180 to 200 square metres. These figures include the house and are not an official block size.

One street can hold yards of very different sizes, so a figure given without seeing the lawn may not fit the yard it is meant for.

Somebody attends the property before quoting, so size, access and fence lines are seen rather than guessed. Where a lot backs onto council reserve land, Trisim's stated practice is to quote up to the property boundary and report overgrown reserve land to council.

The build-up months before the wet

At the Bureau of Meteorology's Cairns Aero station, October averages 47.2mm of rain on 5.7 rain days with 7.4mm of evaporation a day, and November 87.9mm with 7.5mm a day, against 2,025.5mm across the year. These are Cairns airport figures, not readings taken in Trinity Park.

On those averages a month of evaporation runs well ahead of a month of rain through the build-up. A lawn going into those weeks can use any help it gets to hold moisture.

Trisim mulch mows, cutting the clippings fine and returning them to the root zone, where they help the soil retain moisture. The fortnightly day keeps running through October and November, the same as the rest of the year.

Fortnightly Lawn Mowing

Mowing on a standing fortnightly round: the cut, the edges, the line trim and a blow down of the paths and driveway.

Households here averaged 2.8 people at the 2021 Census, against 2.5 for Cairns, and 22.8% of Trinity Park residents were under 15. On the fixed fortnightly day, the clippings go back into the root zone instead of being removed, so there is no clipping removal cost.

02

Green Waste Removal

Prunings, clearing waste and cuttings that have to leave the property.

Trinity Park falls within the electric ant biosecurity zone covering the Cairns council area, and prunings and cleared grass count as garden waste, a listed carrier. Moving it to a listed waste facility that accepts carriers, such as the Portsmith Transfer Station, needs no permit. Trisim's posted eight-hour clearing, with its many tarp loads, came from elsewhere in Cairns, not from Trinity Park.

Garden Mulching

Garden beds mulched from four supply options.

Most Trinity Park lots sit on newer survey plans, where the median lot is 600 square metres, worked out for this page from the state cadastre and including the house. Whatever the bed, the choice is from four mulches: recycled green waste Aussie Bush, termite-repelling Premium Red Cypress, Tea Tree when in season, or slow-breaking, weed-blocking Caribbean Pine Bark. Pick one at the on-site quote.

High Pressure Cleaning

Driveways, paths and concrete surfaces cleaned back.

Separate houses made up 94.3% of Trinity Park's occupied homes in 2021, against 72.9% for Cairns. A fortnightly mow finishes with the paths and driveway blown down; concrete needing more than that is a separate pressure-cleaning job, which Trisim photographs on Cairns driveways outside this suburb.

Local, insured, reliable

A Cairns team you can trust with the keys

Nothing on this page is a review quote; each fact below can be looked up. At the 2021 Census, 22.8% of Trinity Park residents were aged under 15, against 19.0% for Cairns, so who walks into the yard matters here: Trisim's team is police-checked, and its work is covered by public liability insurance. Trina and Simon run it as a veteran-owned family business with five to ten people. ABN 24 306 689 336 has been active on the Australian Business Register since 1 July 2021, listing QLD 4870 as the main business location. Three commitments are published: the same day every fortnight, work that is guaranteed, and nothing done beyond the quote, so the bill holds no surprises. Separately, the Queensland Office of Fair Trading explains that under the Australian Consumer Law a business must supply its services with due care and skill, suited to a specific purpose and inside a reasonable time. Pressure-washed driveways and an eight-hour grass clearing appear in the photos Trisim shares, all from Cairns jobs elsewhere and none from Trinity Park.

Common questions from Cairns residents

It can be looked at now. Trisim takes on lawns in Trinity Park, so call 0488 622 205 or send the address through the form. Somebody then comes to see the yard before any figure is given. Once booked, each visit is the cut, the edges, the line trim and a blow down of the paths and driveway, on the same day every fortnight. The clippings are cut fine and returned to the root zone.

Yes. Trisim takes on lawn mowing in Trinity Park, so call 0488 622 205 or send the address through the form and somebody comes to look at the yard before a figure is given. On the Queensland Government's locality layer, Trinity Park adjoins Trinity Beach, Smithfield and Yorkeys Knob. Once the quote is agreed, the mow falls on the same day every fortnight. Whoever comes is insured and police-checked.

Less than you might think, because the day is fixed: the mow falls on the same day every fortnight, so the date is known well ahead. What to move, which gate to keep latched and where the dog should be are agreed when somebody comes to look at the yard before quoting. The line trim around fences and edges is part of the visit, not an extra. The crew is insured and police-checked.

Trisim mulch mows as standard: the clippings are cut fine and returned to the root zone, where they act as a natural fertiliser and help the soil retain moisture. At Cairns Aero, October averages 47.2mm of rain and November 87.9mm, with 7.4mm and 7.5mm of evaporation a day. Those are Cairns airport figures, not Trinity Park readings. The fortnightly day keeps running through both months.
